The first day of goodbyes. We ate popcorn and peanutbutter sandwiches (not for Alie) for breakfast - such fatties. We then crammed ourselves into our dresses and collared shirts and headed off to church. We visited both the catholic and methodist churches, to be fair to both, and they were dancing and singing all around. We then ventured back to camp and started to prepare for our handover and performances. When the time came, the cultural dancing introduced the 'ceremony' which included both Ghanian and Bruni girls (and 2 boys). It was all filmed so you'll hopefully get to see it when we get home. The drama was after this and Ben P was the starring role of the sick malaria ridden person, with mosquitos biting him in the night and being taken to Doctor Dickson in the morning. This showed everyone our understanding of malaria and hopefully encouraged them to protect themselves against it. We then handed over our main project - the animal farm. The community seemed pleased with our work and the Cheif was very interested in the animals. After everyone had dispersed we went down to the beach and some of us were dragged all around Brenu meeting different peoples families. They were all kind, and especially to Ellie, she recieved 2 pinapples on her tour. For dinner we had our last meal with Gloria and Bernice, which everyone was going to miss. We said our final goodbyes to them, and a few tears were shed, but it couldn't be helped. A very eventful day it was!
Love to all,
'The Bruni's on exploration!' xxx
